- Request for proposals are invited for ' GGGI Jordan is inviting interested firms to submit their bids for the consulting services to conduct Green Employment Analysis in Jordan. Jordan faces resource scarcity, particularly in water and fossil fuels, necessitating a transitiontowards a more sustainable and resource-efficient economy. Environmental challenges, such as desertification, land degradation, and water scarcity, can be mitigated through green jobs that minimize the negative environmental impact of industries and encourage sustainable practices. High unemploymentrates, especially among refugees, youth, and women, can beaddressed by generating new green employment opportunities,targeting marginalized groups, and promoting social equality. Green jobs also contribute to climate change mitigation, helping Jordan meet its commitments under the Paris Agreement. Furthermore, green jobs projects align with the UN SDGs. Thesustainable, inclusive green jobs project in Jordan willaddress the country-s economic, social, and environmental challenges. In order to address these issues, GGGI is implementing the project Creating Sustainable Green Jobs for Refugees and Host Communities through the Green Economy in Jordan- financed by KOICA and co-financed by GGGI, for 3 years (2023-2026). The objectives of the Project are to (1) Provide evidence of the economic and environmental benefits of green employment to enable a green employment environment in Jordan, (2) Enhance job seekers' employability in green sectorsthrough skill development and increased climate change awareness (especially women and youth) (3) Establish Greenbusiness incubation & acceleration on/offline programs for greenentrepreneurs / green start-ups for green entrepreneurs / greenstart-ups In order to achieve Objective 1, GGGIhas identified the need to conduct a comprehensive analysison green jobs, green growth potential in Jordan. The purpose of this analysis is to assess the status of green jobs, identify the potential for the creation of more green jobs, and provide evidence-based recommendations for policy interventions.
