Request for proposals are invited for Consultancy Services to Undertake the Environmental Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) under Nature-based Solutions for Urban Adaptation (NATURA) Project in Lao PDR OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: GGGI is seeking to hire a consulting firm to undertake the Environmental Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the Project, establishing the prerequisite baseline standards that are to be met by GGGI and its partners throughout the life of the project. Table 1 highlights the relevant performance standards for each component of the project but expects a holistic approach, tailored to the Lao context, and adapted to the specifics of urban nature-based solution (NBS) or ecosystem-based adaptation (EBA) to be respected The Key Components of the ESIA Report are as follows Environmental and social impacts refer to any change, potential or actual, to (i) the physical, natural, or cultural environment, and (ii) impacts on surrounding community and workers, resulting from the business activity to be supported . This ESIA process will also consider ecosystem integrity, and the services that are generated for the beneficiaries, so the findings of the ESIA will also have programmatic implications. The scope of work described below is indicative and the full methodologies will be requested from the Contractor selected for this contract. PART A) Pre- Construction Phase 1.
