• Tenders are invited for Development of the Master Plan to Enable the Development of Coffee-Based Tourism in the Juanambu Canyon Gggi Colombia is Currently Implementing the Second Phase of the Green Growth Program Sponsored by the Kingdom of Norway. The Principal Impacts of the Program are to Reduce Deforestation and Secure the Provision of Ecosystem Goods and Services, Improve Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation, and Sustain and Socially Inclusive Green Growth. To Achieve it, We Look to Scale up Sustainable Production Systems and Promote the Implementation of Restoration Efforts from Degraded Land to Socially Inclusive and Sustainable Productive Systems under a Landscape Approach. To Reach this Goal, Gggi has Developed the Project Preparation Technical Assistance Facility (Pptaf). The Pptaf Aims to Facilitate the Preparation of Investment-Ready Forestry, Nature-Based Tourism, Livestock (Cattle), and Ntfps Projects by Improving the Quality of Project Proposals, Making Them Bankable and Attractive for Funding by the Private Sector Investors, Development Finance Institutions, and National and Subnational Governments. Under this Instrument, the Gggi Supports a Local Partner Seeking to Promote Nature Tourism in the Department of NariñO. According to NariñO's Nature Tourism Strategic Plan (2019), the Juanambu Canyon is One of the Natural Attractions with the Highest Potential Due to its Natural Wealth and Historical Value. The Park is Located on the Banks of the River Juanambu, being this River an Ideal Place for the Practice of Extreme Sports Such as Rafting, Rappelling, Climbing, Hiking, Kayaking and Canopy. Inside, it has a Large Forest Area and Three Natural Pools. In Terms of History, the Trails of this Park Witnessed the Battle of Juanambu in 1814. Today its Visitors can Observe the Traces of Bridges, Trenches and Caves that Served as a Shelter for the Soldiers when the Army of SimóN BolíVar Confronted the Army of the Spanish Crown. Despite its High Natural and Cultural Value and its High Potential for the Development of Extreme Sports, the Canyon Still does not have the Expected Inflow of Tourists. However, the Canyon is Located in the Area of Buesaco, One of the Most Outstanding Areas in the Country for its Potential for Specialty Coffee Production. In this Context, the Department of NariñO is Currently Developing the Coffee Tourism Route, and the Canyon Becomes an Ideal Showcase to Promote the Region's Coffee. With this in Mind, Our Local Partner Seeks to Establish a New Coffee Experience that Generates Opportunities for the Local Community and is Attractive to Potential Tourists. Because of it, the Local Partner has Identified 3,000 Square Metres Close to Existing Coffee Plantations Available for the Project and Carried out the Land Regulation Studies for the Construction of a 500 Square Metre Experience Centre. The Objective of this Consultancy is to Identify the Best Activities to Develop Coffee-Based Tourism in the Area and Establish a Master Plan for the Park to Enable the Development of Coffee-Based Tourism. The Service Provider shall be Responsible for Carrying out All Activities Required to Complete the within 20 Weeks from Commencement . The Activities to be Undertaken Include but not Limited to: 1) Identify Actions that can Generate Coffee-Based Tourism Product to Complement Current Tourism in the Juanambu Canyon. 2) Establish Areas within the Canyon Zone to Establish the Facilities Necessary to Develop Coffee-Based Tourism. 3) Design a Coffee Experience Centre within the Canyon Area. 4) Estimate the Cost of Establishing the Coffee Experience Centre.
